Yesterday I decided to get a head start on the New Year. There will be no last minute resolutions for me. True it is good to look back, take stock of the past year and determine the best direction for the New Year. This year I already know what I want to do. One of the things I want to do is get fit. I have been up and down in weight like most people. There are plans out there that will really work if you just use them.
Also like most people I live a busy life. I will lose weight, then get too busy to plan properly, eat whatever is handy and either stall or gain some weight back.The very first rule for success in anything is to plan. If you fail to plan then you plan to fail, period.

As you can see I am just starting and plan to lose 47 pounds. Yesterday was a good day to start even though Christmas is ahead. Using this tool (the tracker not the ticker) will help me wherever I am so I know whether the calories are worth it or not. It also lets me know at a glance How many calories I have left for the day.
Keeping a food diary or journal is essential for losing weight. My Fitness Pal allows me to keep track either online or with my cellphone. I have seen other programs that will do this but none of them were this quick and easy to use. If this helps just one person to reach their goal, it is well worth the time to post.
